Another fantastic weekend for Audlem CC with all three sides picking up impressive victories.

The first X1 travelled to Oakamoor and came away with a thrilling win off the penultimate ball in a real nail-biter. After restring the hosts to 144 for 8 from their 40 overs, the wickets were shared around in a disciplined bowling display with every bowler contributing to the effort.
In reply, valuable runs from Venu Gopal Reddy, Charles Birkin and Bertie Hardy kept the chase on track before Rahul produced a calm and match winning unbeaten 36 to see Audlem home in dramatic fashion. A superb team performance all round.

The second X1 also enjoyed a brilliant afternoon against Wistaston. A disciplined bowling performance restricted the visitors to 129 for 6 with Sam Patterson as the standout performer claiming an excellent four wickets.
Audlem then made light work of the chase thanks to an incredible innings from Dave Blatherwick who blasted 91 not out from just 59 balls in a dominant display of hitting to secure the win in style.

The following day it was the turn of the Sunday X1 to turn on the style with a 94-run victory over Hodnet and Peplow at The Gorse Croft. Prolific opening bats. Alfie Hardy ( 33 ) and Andy Jackson ( 21 ) got the team off to a good start with a 43-run partnership then Marcus Taylor added another 30 valuable runs to the total as he stood firm whilst wickets tumbled at the other end. A great partnership between Richard Irvine 48 not out ) & young Ryan Anderton ( 41 not out ) who put on 71 runs for an unbroken 8th wicket partnership as the innings closed on 209 for 7. Hodnet were never able to threaten the target with all the bowlers contributing in a miserly display with Conor Howard taking the plaudits with impressive figures of 3 for 9 off his 5 overs. Hodnet closed on 115 for 8 at stumps.

Next Saturday the first XI are at home to Barlaston and the second XI are at Swynnerton Park to take on Stone CC. The following day, the Sunday XI travel to Burton CC near Chester with all games scheduled for a 1.00pm start.

For the next four weeks the reports will appear on the club's Facebook page due to an extended ( and unprecedented ) mid cricket season holiday.
