Photos from the weekend's Transport Festival, organised by ASET, the Audlem Special Events Team, have proved very popular, as have shots from the Gathering of Historic Narrow Boats organised by Audlem Mill.

Today we bring you more photos from the Transport Parade through Audlem by the Webteam and a selection by local resident Peter Oxley of classic cars taken on the playing field.

The tractor, right hand in the second row, we are told, travelled all the way from Lleyn Peninsular in North Wales to attend the Festival, a journey of two days. We are sure the tractor will have pulled over regularly to allow other traffic to pass!

On the subject of the parade, we must pay tribute to commentator Bill Consterdine who kept the large crowds informed particularly when vehicles appeared out of order and Bill's car knowledge and acquaintance with many of the owners proved vital.

Praise has arrived on the Chatbox such as this comment from Kevin Simpson: "I live in Nantwich and I came into Audlem on Sunday to have a look at the Transport Festival along with my son. The village looked lovely and the festival itself was a fantastic experience. The exhibits were plentiful and of a very high standard all round. Many Thanks Audlem for a great day, a credit to all involved."

Marianne Broad also wrote to AudlemOnline, saying: "My partner and I entered the festival and I thought I would like to send the Audlem website a thank you. We arrived from Stafford at Hankelow and were amazed at the set up on the village green. All our places were marked with little numbered flags, and we were marshalled into our positions. We went for an all English breakfast at the White Lion pub, a most enjoyable way to start the day.

"The landlord, who I understand is fairly new to the village, really entered into the spirit of the event. He did mention that the green had been set up over two days by three gentlemen – a 60, 63, and an 80 year old. We were signed on by a lovely couple who were very helpful.
Hankelow was a very well oiled machine!

"At 12.00 we left in a convoy to the pretty village of Audlem and assembled on the village playing field – a good day was had by all apart from a heavy shower."
