More on the 1964 Buerton photo

Following up the story about the Buerton School photo in the Archive, Celia Bloor has received an email from somebody who remembers the people well.

The email says: "It is Helen Davenport on the Picture – I am 100% sure – she is the same age as me and is in the Photograph."

The confusion has risen because there were two Helen Davenports in the area, one in Audlem, the other at Buerton School at this time.

The Audlem Helen, the editor can confirm, is now his wife. The other, we are told, is the Helen Davenport that lived in Moblake and she attended Buerton School from the age of 5 till 11 and then went to Shavington High School . She left the village when she was about 18.

Celia's correspondent adds: "I am also sure it is Ian Hallatt – with regards to the other people you mentioned this morning on the Web Page – they could be in the picture as they were at school with me but were in a different class."

The editor apologies for any confusion he may have caused because, as far as he was concerned in the original story, there is only one Helen Davenport!
