Model engineering society takes roadshow to Audlem

Members of South Cheshire Model Engineering Society took their roadshow to the annual 'Audlem Village Fete' on Turnpike Field on Sunday 27th August 2023.

The Fete included a grand auction, raffle, dog show, tombola, BBQ, drinks tent, and various stalls.

The South Cheshire Model Engineering Society's display was situated under their recently acquired gazebo and was comprised of examples of steam locomotives in various scales, from 5-inch gauge to the smaller Gauge 1 (45mm).

Also on display were stationary engines, model traction engines and a model of a Crewe tractor, complete with two Acton men dressed in authentic Great War uniforms!

There was also a modern image diesel loco on display, powered by large batteries. The display was enhanced by large photographs of models made by members.

Gerald Newbrook, Chairman, South Cheshire Model Engineering Society said: "We had a lot of interest from visitors and it was a really enjoyable event. Thank you to members who provided their models and also those who manned the display, giving out leaflets advertising The Peacock Railway."

For the latest information relating to the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society please visit: Here £1 for two laps on the first Sunday of every month from April to October, on their 5-inch railway track which is almost a quarter of a mile in length.
