Peter and Chris write from Audlem Mill: "Audlem Mill is working with Audlem Aid to Cancer Research to raise funds.

"We will be selling books, and all proceeds will go to the charity. Particularly, we want non-fiction books or audio tapes and CDs on the subjects we specialise in at the Mill – needlework, crafts, industrial archaeology and transport (e.g. canals, railways, trams and road transport), but we'll also sell some fiction. Ordnance Survey maps (but not others) would be appreciated too.

"Customers will be able to buy books at the price shown on the label, or swap a book they bring in for another, generally for about 50p. This swap service operates elsewhere on the canal system, and is apparently very popular.

"If you have books you can spare, ideally only in the categories we have listed, please bring them in to Audlem Mill (we must reserve the right to say 'no' if we get inundated!). Many thanks."
