Mid ARS Saturday 23rd July starting from Audlem car park at 9.00am.
Andy Davidson has kindly volunteered to lead this walk, repeating a superb walk he led last summer.
This is a circular walk from Bollington of about 7.5 miles with a total ascent of 356 metres. Good conditions underfoot and we walk on a bit of everything from paths and bridleways, through farm tracks and country roads, canal paths and dis-used railway tracks with just a short section on a pavement by fairly busy B-road. Fine views throughout much of the walk (especially of White Nancy) which we climb up to near the end of the walk.
Walk starts by a real ale pub/brewery (click here for details) so some might want to sample its produce at the end of the walk.
Details of White Nancy can be found here for those interested in this landmark, which has now been painted to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Waterloo.
Bollington is about an hour's drive from Audlem so a 9 o'clock start from Audlem car park will be fine.
NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.
Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
