Life at The Methodist Church in 2021

I feel our supportive villagers deserve an update on what we have been doing so far this year.

Normally many of you would have joined us to either take part in or enjoy watching the Annual Production by now, sadly we all know why that didn't happen, but rest assured we fully hope and pray to be back in action for a performance next year if the current COVID crisis allows.

Many of you supported us with our Brick by Brick campaign and the various Fund Raising events for the new building at the back of our premises. I am happy to report at long last in 2021 you should actually see your generosity come to fruition as the building work takes place.

Sadly however just a few weeks ago we discovered we had problems with our 1862 Church roof – I suppose at 159 years old, it has done extremely well. This has forced the Church Council into a fast action plan. We believe our building still has a purpose for the people of Audlem and beyond. So we have launched a new appeal so that we can run with both projects this year – while we re-roof we will insulate making our building better for the environment and the people within. We will replace all existing lighting with LED and intend to reduce our emissions with a more efficient heating system.

The financial response we have had so far is most encouraging but we need to extend our request to our wider community. If you feel in a position to offer a donation or an interest free loan this would help us enormously.

Donations can be made available as follows:

  • Providing cash or a cheque (made out to Audlem Methodist Church) in an envelope to the Methodist Appeal box at William's Newagents or
  • Printing the form below the photo or collecting one from Williams and submitting it to the Methodist Appeal box at William's Newsagents

But whatever your response, we will be extremely grateful. Please wish us well and enjoy watching the progress as we seek to do our best with a building we long to share with you ALL.
