Just in case you missed yesterday afternoon's news story.
We have now – today, (well yesterday now) – just passed the £100,000 mark.
This target was set so many months ago by two very loving daughters, Teri and Hannah, as they determined to help their Mum, Berni, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the gall bladder.
NHS treatment for her cancer at this late stage was not available for her so the girls set in motion a drive for the needed funds.
This was last June/July and then in October, when the total stood at around £35,000, the village exploded into action.
The Music Festival team undertook the "Amazing Grace" story of filming and recording virtually all the Audlem groups and residents in a drive to reach the £100,000 mark.
It was truly amazing that so many took part in what was a marathon of many hours talented work by a few, in order to launch the Mend our Mum to the bigger world.
As many know we have had so many media outlets covering the Mend Our Mum story – across the globe too. The BBC and ITV played a major role in this excitement and we generated many more £s.
Now I am very pleased to report that a match funding of a climb of Snowdonia last summer by the retail company GAP has been confirmed – this last piece of news plus even more DVD sales through Williams the Newsagents and Braids Salon – takes us over the magic number.
Treatment for Berni has begun but much bigger action will take place in the next few weeks.
The various media outlets have asked to be advised of this momentous news so we may indeed be seeing more activity here soon.
