Yesterday, we had to pull the announcement in the story about an Easter Parade (see below) while some details were being clarified. We are pleased to re-publish the story as it appeared early yesterday now that those arrangements have been confirmed:

I am pleased to say that I banked a further £880 yesterday to the Mend our Mum bank account.

This was from a £500 given for that most glorious of football memorabilia – a signed Liverpool FC shirt, plus an extra £280 cash from the shearing of Ian Haughey the other night.

The Mend our Mum fund is getting very near the £100,000 target. With yesterday's cash deposit plus the expected funds from a Ceilidh on March 14th and the The Full Monty Night at the Shroppie Fly on 28th March, we estimate it will reach £98,700 – so just £1,300 to go.

Berni has said to me she would like to organise an Easter Parade Walk around the village on Easter Monday, with prize for the Best Easter Bonnet and Easter Bunnies and Eggs of course.

This would be in aid of the Donna Louise Trust as a big thank you from Berni and her family. A marvellous plan by Berni – a truly remarkable woman.

Please do come and enjoy a great night on the 14th March at the Ceilidh dance – tickets in the Post Office and at Williams Newsagents. Thank you.
