Those concerned about the plans to build a Wind Farm to the south east of Audlem will be interested in a meeting in Market Drayton early next month.

A special Development Control Committee of North Shropshire District Council will consider the application on Tuesday 2nd September at 6.00pm at The Grove School, Newcastle Road, Market Drayton. People who have written to the North Shropshire Council – "the most improved district council in the country", according to their letterhead – have received letters notifying them of the meeting. The letter says that the recommendation is that the application to build a wind farm comprising 7 wind turbines, ancillary buildings, estate road and vehicular access off the B5026 be approved.

Those that wish to object on the night may apply to speak under the public speaking rules. If so, call the Council on 01939 232771 ext 3233 or by email on committeeservices@northshropshiredc.gov.uk">committeeservices@northshropshiredc.gov.uk with your name, address and contact telephone number by 12 noon on this coming Friday 29th August.

The rules stipulate 3 minutes is allocated for oral representations by objectors with the committee chair deciding who speaks if there is more than one person who wishes to object. If you have any queries on this, you can call 01939 232771 extension 3231.

The voting in the Audlem Online Vote Poll asking "Do you agree with building the proposed wind farm south east of Audlem?" shows a majority against. 57% have answered 'No' with '37%' saying 'Yes' and 6% unsure. Voting is still running so if you haven't cast your vote yet, you can do so by clicking on 'Yes', 'No' or 'Unsure' and then on 'Vote Now'.
