As previously explained by Audlem Online, the new council of Cheshire East comes into being on April 1st 2009. Voters will be able to elect the 3 councillors for the new council on May 1st this year. Initially constituencies will mirror those of Cheshire County Council. Audlem is currently in the Cholmondley constituency, although a complete review of constituencies will take place during the first years of the council's life.

There are 6 candidates for the 3 posts. They are: Rachel Anne Bailey, Margaret Amy Hollins and Allan Richardson (Conservative); Thomas Robert Dunlop and Natalie Lara Kent (Labour) and Richard William Fox (Liberal Democrat).

Voting for Audlem residents will take place in the Public Hall on Thursday 1st May. Polling hours are between 7.00 am and 10.00 pm.
