A mild morning , with no calls from the owls this morning, as I come down the stairs at an early hour. It is quite good on radio 4 in the early hours , as it is devoted to the BBC world service with many articles covering the life outside our sometimes parochial broadcasts.

To another subject . The masses of waste slung from cars, vans and lorries that despoil the roadside verges on our lines of vehicle contact . Driving on the A483 recently on the way to Caergrwle near to Wrexham, I am amazed at just how much plastics etc adorns the trees and bushes. And the same goes for the M6 as I drive north . What a sorry lot we are that – thinks it is ok to just sling their trash out of the window. Perhaps the EU will be delighted that the "dirty man of Europe " will not disgrace the common Market once we have left . Like lemmings to our demise .
But. To Audlem, after seeing my team lose to Man Utd . Pity that.

Audlem car park a bit busy with a cycle event being organised by Tim from our cycle shop. Pitch in very good order having been slit, rolled and cut .
Church bells ringing melodiously out for Mothering Sunday, as cars arrive with family groups. Calm morning . No need for gloves.
Opponents today are Talbot F C . Top of the league team and likely to be champions . So – a hard task.

Players arrive in dribs and brabs . But we do have 15 turn out which could be a plus. Referee is Jem Cornes. A good ref. Fair, firm and sensible in his control of the game.

Kick off sharp at 1100.

They are in the last 5 of all such in Cheshire for the number 1 award. Let us hope they fayre well when secret diners check them out)
Talbot straight in to park them selves in our half . Lots of pressure on Connor Baxter in goal.

Joe Benson on . Kev Mort gets a spell of double vision after a fierce header . Soon up and running.
