Chatbox readers will have seen a somewhat surprising piece of good news yesterday. Surprising because missing cat Magic disappeared well over a week ago on 1st September from her home in Audlem.
A delighted owner – if that's the word with a cat – Judy wrote: "I am happy to say Magic has been found. She was in Nantwich Market. How she got there I have no idea, hitched a ride in a vehicle I suspect. She is a bit thin and subdued but after a good meal has now gone to sleep.
"Thank you again to everybody that helped and a special big thank you to Irene Cunliffe who found her whilst out shopping and brought her back to me."
Update at 12.40. Judy adds: "Magic apparently appeared in the market about 3 days ago and kind stall holders gave her milk and alerted the RSPCA but by a stroke of luck Irene went to the market and realised it was Magic.
"Apparently it was a bit of an operation and it took about 3 or 4 people to catch her in front of Nantwich church. I am so grateful there are so many kind caring people about.
"Magic is very grateful too though I don't think she will be doing this again in a hurry, she is very traumatised by the ordeal. She has an appointment at the vets to have health check and to have a microchip.
"We will never know for sure how she got where she did but she has certainly used up some of her nine lives."
