The M6 was originally due to be closed for two successive weekends from January 15th at junction 19 (by Knutsford Services, where the A556 crosses the motorway) to allow the installation of a new bridge.
The recent cold snap has delayed the preparatory work for this, so the closures are now expected during the weekends of January 22nd to 25th and January 29th to February 1st.
While the traffic will not itself be diverted through Audlem, clearly there is likely to be a significant knock-on effect on many major routes in the area.
