It is my privilege to be a volunteer at what I call the Tuesday Club at Thornton House run by ADCA.

Tiring but rewarding and enjoyable. Of course, I see many old friends there which helps.

This last week, after lunch and Musical Lotto, one of our 'family' read the following poem to us. I think it's worth sharing:

Questions and Answers

The man said to me, “Who won the war?” We did.

How did we manage that?” We had (a) backbone.

Backbone, what is that?” It's a belief in our country.

Have we still got it?” No.

Why not?” Because we're going soft.

What do you mean by that?” We give in to everything – other countries are way ahead of us.

How is that?” Don't ask me – ask the government.

They hold the key.

For You and Me.
