There's a busy few days ahead in and around Audlem's Public Hall. Tomorrow, Friday 14th September, sees an energy efficiency advice event on the car park. Genevieve from Energy Projects Plus, which is a registered charity, says: "We are in Audlem on Friday 14th September. We have borrowed the County Council's Oscar Vehicle and are setting up next to the Public Hall. We will be on hand to tell people all about grants, discounts and cash backs in the area to help with installing energy saving measures.

"We will also have information on renewable energy for any residents who want to do their bit. There will be free energy efficient light bulbs and you can even work out your own carbon footprint – but bring your electricity and other heating bills with you."

On the same day, Friday, there's blood donor sessions in the Public Hall – the session times will run from 12.30 – 3.15pm and 4.30 – 7.15pm. A National Blood Service spokesman said "We are experiencing high demand for blood and to ensure that we can meet all requests from hospitals, we are requesting volunteers to come forward to this new session. Would-be donors should be between 17 and 59 and be in good health. No appointment is necessary"

If you wish to make an appointment, you can do this by telephoning 0645 7 711 711 or logging on to the National Blood Service's website at www.blood.co.uk

Moving on to Saturday, the new season of films showing at the Public Hall starts with a double header of great films. Showing at 5.00 pm is Shrek the Third, followed by The Painted Veil at 7.30 pm. There is no change in the price of tickets – £2.50 for juniors and £5.00 for adults. Tickets are available at the Post Office or from Public Hall committee members.
