Looking for a pub...

In the teeth of fierce competition, one of the webteam has added the role of pubs correspondent to his portfolio.

History of Pubs in and around Audlem

The Webteam remembers two pubs that have closed in recent years – The Crown and The Lamb.

And one of the webteam isn't quite sure if the Shroppie Fly had only recently opened when he came into the village (originally a canal warehouse?).

Lennie Meredith has kindly provided a list of pubs that used to exist in and around the Audlem area.

We thought that it would be worth putting up the names (one by one) and see what memories it might reveal.

The Romping Cat

Lennie says:-
"The Romping Cat Salford is two houses now I believe and is situated next to the public footpath adjacent Dylan Jones."
