Look what flew off the tree on Christmas Day!

This confused little fellow emerged from our Christmas tree today.

A small tortoiseshell butterfly.

The editor adds: A hawthorn shield bug, an attractive green and brown jobbie, flew out of ours.

Any advance on these two escapees – a partridge perhaps?
