Kate McKennan is leading this month's Long-ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) walk this coming Saturday, 8th October. Here is her description:-
This is a pleasant circular walk around Tarvin of 9 miles plus. It is flat to rolling and is mainly across fields, but with short stretches through an orchard and a golf course. We have to cross the main road twice , however this has not proved to be a problem on the reccies.
There are two or three short trots on lanes – and there is one short very muddy place so bringing scuba equipment is optional. All the stiles have been pruned back as some were prickly.
There may well be cows in some fields. We can end by walking through the newly planted Tarvin Woodland trust walk-around the edge of the new housing or over fields.
Meet in Audlem car park at 8.30 am; park in Tarvin on the village street
NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.
Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
