A Year in the Life of Lock15 Gardens by Adrian Leighton

*New plots available*

It's now a year since ADAPT Lock 15 Gardeners Group entered into partnership with the Canal & River Trust through their 'Adoption Scheme'.

During the year the gardens at Lock 15 have flourished with a mixture of vegetable and flowers being grown.

As well as the health giving activity of gardening and the joy of harvesting the fruits of our labour we also have enjoyed our conversations with passing boaters. From their comments we clearly provide pleasure through our gardening activities.

Among the produce grown in the gardens this year have been potatoes, onions, courgettes, broad beans, runner beans, french beans, leeks, parsnips, broccoli, Jerusalem artichokes, rhubarb, raspberries, blackberries.

Extra plots have been made available of varying sizes and we are able to offer three plots to any who would like to join the group. No previous gardening experience is necessary as we all enjoy each others' help and support.
