Local MP in Tug of War

Audlem's new MP Antoinette Sandbach did not have to wait long before her first mention on the wonderful Guido Fawkes website, order-order.com which is a must for all interested in behind-the-scenes politics (along with Private Eye).

A headline on Guide Fawkes reads:

Antoinette Sandbach Sabotages Tug Of War

The event on Tuesday was the traditional Macmillan's Tug of War battle between members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. There's a men's tug and a women's tug battle to raise funds for the cancer nurses' charity.

The report says; "The female MP's team lost again, amid whispers that the team's leggy front woman Antoinette Sandbach sabotaged her own side by turning up in a pair of calf-length street boots.

"One onlooker was heard muttering:"it's like turning up in high heels" as the ladies trudged away with their runners up medal..."

But then again, the event is all for charity. Last year the MPs' and Lords' tugs of war raised a whopping £141,000 for Macmillan.
