Audlem and Hankelow are featured in the May edition of Cheshire Life which is now on sale at Williams' newsagents at £3.20.

Audlem attracts a well-illustrated double page spread under the headline: Why you should move to Audlem? Readers of Audlem Online, of course, already know the answer but the village is described as 'a real treat'.

Pictures include the village from Holmes' Bank; a shot of Cheshire Street from the car park where Just the Plaice Too really does look a treat; and Audlem Wharf outside the Shroppie Fly.

Five properties are also featured and the article makes the point that the village is so popular that house prices are well above the national average.

Over in Hankelow, there's a 3-page article on Kirk Shenton and his family's work on Hankelow Hall. There's a detailed description of the work so far since Kirk bought the hall in 1989.

The restoration is a massive project and Kirk and his son James, a joiner, have been doing much of the work themselves. There's a photograph of one of the restored rooms using English oak.
