Local cheesemaker Joseph Heler has taken part in a bid to create the world's biggest ever cheese board. The company was asked to feature in the British Cheese Board's attempt to create the massive board in London's Covent Garden as part of British Cheese Week. Measuring 24 square metres and weighing half a tonne, the huge board featured some 700 cheeses that are produced in Britain.

And in the same week, Joseph Heler received the Vegetarian Society seedling mark for its Original Reserve cheese – Cheshire, Red Leicester and Double Gloucester – as well as its healthy eating range and continental cheese. To receive the award, the company had to show that its cheese is manufactured using rennet from a non-animal origin.
