After last night's Live Debate, which seemed to be enjoyed very much by those in the room, a big "Thank You" to the five candidates that came to Audlem to discuss a range of issues put forward by our readers and local residents:

  • George Antar (CISTA – Cannabis is Safer than Alcohol)
  • Andrew Garman (Green Party)
  • James Laing (Labour Party)
  • Ian Priestner (Liberal Democrats)
  • Rob Millington (UK Independence Party – UKIP)

Elections are exhausting for the candidates and their teams and it was good to see them putting so much time and effort into what was an old fashioned hustings meeting but with an internet twist.

George Antar, we should add, is thought to be youngest candidate nationally, at 18 years and three months, standing in the 2015 General Election.

A huge "Thank You" also to to the team that made it all happen:

  • John Gunstone, on live streaming
  • Alisdair MacKenzie, on cameras
  • Pete Marshall on sound
  • Mike Mason on captions
  • Alvar Jones for timekeeping and keeping everything on schedule
  • Pat Jones for refreshments for the candidates
  • John Tilling and Alvar Jones for all their work on choosing the questions.

The team were working on the project for over twelve hours yesterday and for days beforehand.

Our grateful thanks to Audlem Methodist Church for letting AudlemOnline use their hall. The location was important for wi-fi and streaming to AudlemOnline and other websites in Eddisbury.

And finally, a big thank to you for watching – if you want to catch up, it's still available, simply click on the photograph above to load the video.
