A combination of Easter holidays and a nasty virus meant that Audlem Saints U9s football team took to the field a man short on Sunday.Playing a good 4th placed Nantwich Tigers team the boys were up against it. However, they worked extremely hard for each other and good passing prevented Nantwich building up too much possession. In fact the first period was probably shaded by Audlem but ended 0-0.

The next period saw Audlem slowly take control. A goal direct from a corner and another well worked goal put Audlem in an unbelievable 2-0 lead! Inevitably though, the strain of being one man down led to tiredness and Nantwich began to create chances. Two decent goals levelled the scores and when Nantwich then hit the bar, it seemed only a matter of time before they edged in front. Audlem Saints though, somehow summoned more effort and scored two late goals to run out deserved, but exhausted, 4-2 winners.

The win leaves them still joint top with 3 games to play having won 10 out of 11 in the current campaign.
