"It is with great regret that my wife Chrissie and I leave this lovely village for pastures new, following the deterioration of her life-threatening cancer illness.

"We came here from the urban sprawl that we despair of so much and sadly, have to return there to assist in her care during this time. Never before, have we been made so welcome by so many of the kind and generous folk of this typically English village and all that it has to offer.

"You are a remarkable bunch of people!

"So, as the title suggests, this will be the last post from me Mike Christian, alias Ken Woodchef, Buster and the infamous Hugh Jarse. If I have offended any of you with my daft posts in the past, please forgive me, as I meant no harm."

We are sure all will wish Chrissie and Mike (and his various pseudonyms) well during this very difficult time.
