With two of the web team away last week, our apologies for the somewhat late yet dramatic news that AudlemOnline enjoyed a record number of visitors in July.

74,879 visitors clicked on in the month, an average of 2,415 a day.

While this is higher than the previous best of 73,023 clicking on in November last year, it doesn't show up as a record on our readership summary figures – always available at the bottom of the Home Page under Visits Today – as our record system is measured by pages rather than visitors and November 2013 remains the highest for pages opened.

As always, it was the "the events that done it." ASET's Party on the Park and Transport Festival, the Historic Boats Gathering and the Grand Garden Party all boosted readership.

John Gunstone's two films of the Party on the Park and the Transport Festival proved to be very popular.

Our thanks also to the newest member of the web team, Alvar Jones, for holding all together, and seeing us over the finishing line for the month while other members of the editorial team were gallivanting around Sussex, a delightful county which, however, doesn't seem to enjoy the quality of wi-fi we are used to here in Audlem.
