The joys of supermarket shopping on-line

It sounds as if the computers helping search for shoppers' on-line orders at some of the big supermarkets were struggling a little with the Big Shop orders earlier this week.

One local family's gins and tonics were bereft of the 'slice' as their ordered lemons became 'lemon scented washing up liquid'.

At least, there was the compensation that the almost continuous seasonal task at the sink was more fragrant than usual.

And the same family enjoyed a Christmas Fruit Gateaux as opposed to the Mixed Frozen Fruit they had ordered.

And lo and behold, their order of potatoes resulted in a tin of potatoes, a product we thought had disappeared years ago – but it had to make an surprise seasonal appearance instead of the lovely roasties the family was looking forward to with their turkey.
