We are pleased to bring you local poet Jessie's poem for this new month.
November: A Month to Remember
Yes, there's many dates
To remember this month.
One, in particular
Must not be forgot!
November the 5th of course
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
Displays are planned
Throughout the land
By villages and towns
Bonfires are built -
But not lit – just waiting.
Fireworks are bought
And put away
For safety
Until that very special day.
Through windows clear
Eager young families watch
While Dad lights up the sparklers
Such excitement! Without a tear!
Remember too-
November will be cold and wet
But if we wrap up warm
And take a brolly,
We should be here
To greet December,
With its Mistletoe and Holly!
