Your majesty,

With my true regards for yourself, I write to you with a little poem that recalls many memories.
I do hope that the words will find pleasure with you.

Her Royal Majesty – The Queen

My Special Day

I am writing to you because it is my birthday!
I just had a "whim" to share my day with you
As you share your "special" days with me

Born in a blizzard- 88 years ago on the 31st of March,
Now I count my blessings- I've had a good life -
Certainly made the most of it!

WWII saw me in London
Alongside the blitz – devastation!
A few years later I saw my school demolished -
By a Doodlebug! – Both occasions never to be forgotten.

As I am an OAP I can remember
And be thankful .

Hopefully, your Highness, I shall be watching in June –
Not your birthday , but a very "special day"

I will be glued to the television-
Mustn't miss a minute!
I hope all goes well for everyone .
