The Midnight Walk is a hugely successful and well supported fund-raising event for St Luke's Hospice.

This year's walk is on 28th June and local resident Janice Spibey will be walking for the 10th time. As this is the 10th anniversary of the event, Janice is an ever-present.

As regular readers will know, Janice has an amazing record with, so far, over £12,000 raised by her participation, typically over £1,000 a year.

She says this success is all down to the people of Audlem: "I am so grateful to everyone: they are so generous."

Janice says she will continue joining the Midnight Walk, health permitting, as long as she can. "It gives me a focus, I love meeting all the people, and it encourages me to keep fit."

As AudlemOnline spoke to her, she was just about to go out on her bike to build up her stamina.

It will be a magical night on Saturday 28 June 2014 for the ladies only Midnight Walk, starting from Reaseheath College in Nantwich, with participants choosing whether to walk the half moon (6.5 miles) or the full moon (13.1 miles).

There's just under six weeks to go and sponsorship forms are in Boots and Audlem Post Office and will hopefully be going elsewhere. You can also phone Janice on 811319 if you want to support this excellent cause – and help Janice keep up her enviable record of fund-raising.
