It may be sheer coincidence, but just days after Audlem Online was describing the inspiration behind the Neil Diamond hit Sweet Caroline, the great sing-a-long anthem that Diamond says was inspired by President J F Kennedy's then very young daughter, Caroline, the same tale was being described to the nation on BBC Radio 2.

Audlem Online was covering Neil Diamond's work as a preview to Thursday's music night at the Bridge Inn with the 'Diamond Geezer', said to be the UK's #1 Neil Diamond Tribute act – see 'Sweet Caroline in Audlem tonight'. The BBC did add another facet to the Diamond story yesterday, Friday afternoon – that Neil Diamond in November last year did get to sing the song personally to Caroline Kennedy on her 50th birthday – 39 years after its composition in 1969.
