Overwater Marina has been approached by BBC3 to be the location for an exciting new research documentary entitled "Inland Castaway".

The marina's beautiful wilderness island will play host to a highly selected band of castaway volunteers who will be expected to fend for themselves and live off the island's diverse range of flora and fauna.

In preparation Marina staff have been nurturing a small herd of pygmy goats, who producers hope will help the castaways to develop age old skills in goat herding, milking and cheese making.

Some items of shelter will be provided but the volunteers will be expected to build their own water purification plant and find innovative ways of disposing of waste products.

Producers have indicated that the programme will culminate in a public vote off, with the winner announced at the Audlem RNLI Festival on 1st June by the famous Dutch castaway presenter Avril Unura.

Applications for the first round of interviews can be found on the programme's website www.iwasaninlandwaterwaycastaway.com
