On 11th May, Audlem Online carried a letter giving advanced notice of work on the sewers in the middle of the village. We understand that this may cause considerable problems on the A525 along Shropshire Street over a lengthy period of time.

The work involves installing a new sewer and pumping system from Kingbur Place (also known as Moseley's Yard) through the grounds of the local fire station, which will eventually connect into the existing sewer in Shropshire Street. This will impose severe parking restrictions and access to local residents and businesses during the work on Shropshire Street.

Today, 19th May, a Mobile Visitor Centre will be parked on the car park of the Lord Combermere Public House 3.00pm to 7.00pm. Representatives from United Utilities and Morgan Est, the contractors, will be available to show you plans and answer any questions you may have.

More on this story after tomorrow.
