The History Society is asking for help needed sorting out houses and information on George Lynes.
Often an address is given as Copthorne – but there were about 19 houses there in 1935. We
would like to know which house George Lynes the coal merchant lived in.
His wife's family, the Whitmores, lived at Station View. Is that still standing? Or is it where the new eco house is?
Any memories welcome.
