Cheshire East Highways are going to be very busy in the Audlem area over the next week or so, applying HIP surfacing dressing to several different roads. The roads will be closed whilst this work is done. This list was current as of the evening of Monday 6th June. The precise timings of these closures could be affected by the weather

Road Closures

  • Wednesday 8th June: A529 Audlem Road from Second Dig Lane to Mill Lane*
  • Thursday 9th June: A529 Audlem Road from Park Road to Second Dig Lane
  • Thursday 9th June: B5071 Crewe Road from the junction with A529 to Lodge Lane just before Dagfields
  • Friday 10th June: Kettle Lane from Woore Road to WoodhouseLane/Bagley Lane junction
  • Friday 10th June: Longhill Lane from Woore Road to Windmill Lane
  • Monday 13th June: Hardys Lane Coxbank from Bagley Lane to Chapel Lane
  • Monday 13th June: Paddock Lane from Woore Road to Kettle Lane
  • Monday 13th June: Hankins Heys Lane in Buerton

In addition to these road closures, there will also be roadworks with traffic lights on 13 – 14th June on the A529 in Hankelow, near The White Lion. The road works, with traffic lights, at the Walkmill Bridge on the A525 between Lightwood Green and Burleydam are likely to be in place until the end of next week.

Finally Shropshire Council have announced that the A525 at Woore will be closed on Sunday 12th June whilst Severn Trent make repairs to a manhole cover, hopefully this will not last the whole day!

*We have received a Chatbox query about where Mill Lane is. Kirstin has written as a result: "Just in case you want to let Billy Gibbons (and people generally) where Mill Lane is off A529 Broad Lane... it is a small side road on the lefthand side as you travel towards Nantwich between First Dig Lane and Stapeley Broad Lane Primary School, just beyond the start of the 30mph limit."
