Homewatch Advice

The following advice has been received from a local Homewatch group:

Please be aware that there have been several reports of individuals knocking on doors attempting to sell cleaning goods etc claiming to have been recently released from prison and working on a 'rehabilitation project' or similar.

No such project exists. Please be vigilant and keep an eye out for cold callers.

There have been reports of distraction burglaries occurring in recent weeks.

A common technique is where individuals pretend to be from the Water Board or utility company. They will try to gain entry by suggesting that there may be a problem that needs checking.

They work in pairs and while one is occupying you the other is looking for valuables to take. Please do not let anyone into your property who is not expected.
