Cheshire Police have issued a statement about the Hit & Run incident that injured Norman Huntbach reported on AudlemOnline yesterday. It says:

"At 8.30pm on Sunday 24th July 2016, Cheshire Police were called to an address on Green Lane in Audlem following reports of an attempted theft of fork lift truck and a fail to stop collision.

"A 49-year-old man had approached a group of men believed to be stealing plant machinery from his yard. The offenders assaulted the man and then attempted to escape in a Vauxhall Corsa.

"As they made their escape they were in collision with the man causing him injuries. He was taken to hospital and remains in a stable condition.

"Anyone with information can contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 936 on 24 July 2016.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A statement was also issued by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) yesterday (see AudlemOnline's report just after 5.00pm) following the death of the Vauxhall Corsa driver at 10.00pm as the car was chased by West Mercia police.
