Hit & Run in Audlem

On Thursday 30th March, I was parked outside the bicycle shop in Audlem, and had to pop over to the chemist. This was around 12.30pm.

When I returned, to my dismay, an articulated white refrigeration vehicle had turned right from Woore because of the Whitchurch Road being closed, had crashed into my car scraping it from front to back, and ripping off the mirror.

He did no more than drive away, failing to even stop!

I am appealing for witnesses. Tim from the bike shop has been fantastic and staff at the Lord Combermere had the vehicle on CCTV which was wonderful.

The car is now at the repairers and the cost is likely to exceed four thousand pounds.

This HGV that did the hit and run was from Southern Ireland. So technically a foreign vehicle.

I think the large vehicles should be banned coming round the Church into the Village. How many more accidents are going to happen like mine?

I am now going to be left with higher insurance and a hefty excess to pay, and I wasn't even in the car at the time. Where is the fairness in that?
