There are two blockbuster films showing in Audlem at the end of this month at the Public Hall. After sell-out shows last month with Mamma Mia! Saturday 29th November will see High School Musical 3: Senior Year playing at 5.00pm followed by The Duchess at 7.30pm.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year (U) is the third installment in Disney's successful series. It follows high school seniors Troy (played by Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) who, faced with being separated after graduating from East High, stage a spring musical about their experiences and hopes for the future. On its recent US launch, it broke the record for the most successful opening weekend for a musical film.
The Duchess (12A) is based on the life of Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire. Beautiful and charismatic, her extravagant tastes and appetite for gambling and love made her infamous. Married to the older, distant Duke of Devonshire, she became a fashion icon, political operator and darling of the public. But the core of the story is a desperate search for love. The Duchess stars Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes, Hayley Atwell, Charlotte Rampling and Dominic Cooper.
Tickets are £2.50 for children and £5 for adults for the 5.00pm show and £5 for the evening performance. They are available at the Post Office and Williams' newsagents.
