This Thursday, Dinah Andrew will present the third and final stage of her talks on the life of Lord Combermere who fought alongside Wellington and added colour to the local scene in the 19th century.

Originally given at Nantwich Museum, this talk looks into his legacy. We find his name commemorated globally, a school in Barbados, a bridge in Shimla and a barracks in Windsor and of course numerous local hostelries! (I found myself explaining the 'Bhurtpore' connection while buying sausages one day.)

7.15pm for 7.30 Thursday 17th, Scout and Guide Hall. You can join for £10 for the year – all 8 talks, or pick and choose at £2 at visit. All welcome, refreshments afterwards.
