Members of the history Society enjoyed their visit to the Blackden Trust home of author Alan Garner near Jodrell Bank. The house shown is the 'old medicine house' which Alan and Griselda moved from Wrinehill in 1970 and reconstructed as an extension to their small (but full of history) house known as Toad hall but better written as T'owd Hall.

As well as a display of Alan's novels there is a museum of finds from the grounds.

Forthcoming events

Unfortunately the coach outing to Ruthin next month has been cancelled due to lack of support.

The next History Society meeting will be in September when Celia Bloor and Maureen Morgan will talk on local aspects of WW1 and there will be a display of objects and documents belonging to local people.
