History Society Meeting May 18th

Audlem and District History Society

The next meeting of Audlem's History Society will be held on Thursday 18th May, 2023, beginning at 7.30pm in the Scout and Guide Hall.

Our speaker is another Committee member of the Society, Pauline Griffiths, and her talk is entitled "History of the Liverpool Docks".

Pauline has lived in Audlem for 38 years, but was born in Liverpool down by the docks.

During lockdown, Pauline contributed to the History Shorts series on Audlem Online by an article on her childhood experiences of living near the Herculaneum dock.

This talk will now expand to include the history of the docks, and the impact on Liverpool's fortunes, as well as the wider economic benefits to the country as a whole.

We hope you will join us for another really interesting evening.

As usual everyone is very welcome, including visitors (please pay £3 per person on arrival).
