History Society meeting cancelled

Audlem and District History Society

We have decided to cancel next week's meeting due to the spread of Covid-19, the coronavirus. It was a difficult decision to make which some will applaud but others may feel is unnecessarily cautious. We're mindful of the advice of the World Health Organisation about limiting smaller gatherings where people are in close proximity to each other. Some members had also indicated that much as they were looking forward to the talk, for health considerations concerning themselves or those close to them, they wouldn't be attending.

We apologise to members and others who were looking forward to Roger Wickson's talk on Thomas Becket. However, we're very grateful to Roger who has offered to give the talk at a later date this year or early in 2021.
