Local resident and historian, Roger Wickson, has a deep and personal connection with canals going back over several generations.
In his words: "We are in a new canal age – very different from the days of commercial carrying which ended in 1970. I was fortunate to know those days and the last of the working boat people."
Roger's illustrated talk includes fascinating shots of the people who made their living from the canals and the story of their way of life, which has completely disappeared.
