Bishop's Castle in Shropshire are preparing a display of information and have discovered that William Baker of Highfields designed their Town Hall.

This is an extra building to add to the ones we know about.  He built our  two coaching inns in Audlem in 1745, the Phoenix and the Crown which face each other across the square,  also the Market Cross in Ludlow, Montgomery Town Hall and St John's church Wolverhampton.

They were pleased to receive extra information I could send about his life and I sent a photograph of the display board at the summer Highfields event which featured him – the work of Sarah Hill.  I attach photo of the plaque in the church I took this week while checking out the details.
