Himalayan Balsam — Volunteers Please

Turnpike's Himalayan Balsam needs pulling down by the boardwalk area.

Steve Elliott will be down at the Boardwalk at 10.30 on Sunday 19th. A couple of hours would be good if anyone would like to join him.

Pulling the balsam is quite easy -just grasp the base of the stem and give it a steady gentle pull — it usually brings the shallow roots with it.

Wear a hi-viz jacket if you can — these help in knowing where people are and are not left behind when we finish!!

We strongly recommend gloves and trousers as there are a lot of brambles and nettles around!
