From Paul Woodcock

Hercules and the team arrived at Lands end late afternoon! 874 miles or more maybe in 5 days from Top to bottom.... Average 170 mile a day and 8 hours driving a day.... What a huge achievement, Paul, Kath and Chris..not forgetting Hercules who has ran like a dream, just a bulb change. And not to forget Katrina and Olly back at base!
Thank you so much for all your kind words and donations

Hercules Travel Log

In case you missed it – the Hercules Charity Challenge came to a successful finish on Tuesday 22nd at Lands End – returning the following day partly using the M5 (even at 40mph!) meant a considerably quicker journey home!

The Just Giving page is still open – link below – as there are another 2 Vintage Vehicle/Steam Rallies to attend.

Tues 18th June -- Day One

156 miles -- John O'Groats to Newtonmore Grill Truck Stop, A99 then A9. Through Wick, Tain, Inverness and Avimore. Very scenic journey.

Wed 19th June -- Day Two

194 miles -- Newtonmore Grill Truck Stop, to Lockerbie. A9 through Pitlochry, Perth, Stirling A73 through Cumbernauld and Carluke a challenging day in built up areas.

Thurs 20th June -- Day Three

169 miles -- Lockerbie to Kelsall travelling through seven major towns -- Carlisle, Penrith, Kendal, Lancaster, Preston, Wigan and Warrington. So a very Challenging day.

Fri 21st June -- back to yard for wash off and check over.

Sat 22nd and Sun 23rd June

Kelsall steam rally where Mr Ashley Bassett and family came to check how Hercules was doing !

Mon 24th June Day Four

231 miles -- Kelsall to Wellington Devon. Travelled on the A49 to Ross on Wye, A40 to Gloucester, A38 to Bristol (a nightmare) but got through, Bridgewater, Taunton. At Wellington met up with Dave Authers and friends in their classic trucks, small road run followed by a bbq and overnight stay. Met some lovely people and real characters

Day Five -- Tues 25th June

Wellington to Lands End
141 miles. A38 through Tiverton to Exeter (another nightmare).Easier running after that along the A30 -- Launceston Bodmin, Redruth, Penzance to Lands End -- a very hot and sunny day, complete contrast to when we started at John O'Groats!
