Helping with Church steps

Following our story about the renovated stone steps up to St James' church ('Stairway to Heaven' on Wednesday), we have received the following note from Peter Ellis, the church's treasurer.

He says: "After viewing your appreciative comments re the Church steps renovation, I wondered if members of the local community were aware that the £5200 cost of the work was funded by the regular collections received from church members.

"As the church is a public asset, is it possible that others may wish to make a contribution?"
