An Audlem resident has written to Audlem Online to say: "Just a point to raise on the web site that if you live down at the western end of the village, and you catch the bus up into the village centre (about 3/4 of a mile and no time to sit down), the price has risen from 45p to 65p – that is way above the cost of inflation."

"It is easy enough to walk into the village if the pavements were clear, there were no overhanging branches and the traffic went at a safe speed. It's funny that for another £1 you can go one way to Whitchurch, 8 miles further, and you can have a 'Day Rover' ticket in Stoke to go anywhere all day for £2.50."

"We don't want to lose the service but how do they justify that increase?"
